Ok, We’ve Proven Our Worth in Music and Arts Now Let’s go into the Sciences

After almost 5 years I pulled out my Sankomota CD which I have stowed away and when I played it I was re-introduced to the soothing sounds of a music group which I believe, together with Stimela, are ahead of many if not all musicians this side on the southern Africa. Sankomota music was composed by music geniuses in the mould of Frank Mooki Leepa and Tshepo Tshola. Franks’s lead guitar proffers the balance and melodic arrangement that the group’s music is renowned for and it is just simply top drawer.

Ray Phiri (affectionately known as Bra Ray) together with his band of astute musicians, his lead guitar also titillates my listening taste and makes me beg for more. Who can forget Jimmy Dludlu with his George Benson-esque strumming of the musical piece, just makes me sit and take seriously the talent that our musicians have and many of whom the instruments they play were self-taught.

The Jews, the most celebrated nation in the world.

The Israelites or Jews are excitedly overjoyed to see other nations praising and magnifying their achievements. It is even more exciting and indeed a remarkable feat for Jews to learn that a rural pastor or priest from Cofimvaba in the Eastern Cape or Ravhele in Limpopo, another one from Harare or Lagos or Malawi, are singing praises about Abraham and Moses and even encouraging their congregations to ‘march to Jerusalem’. This planned march by these men and women of God has put Tel Aviv on high alert as they may be invaded by African nations in their God-given country!

Connectedness with the universe, aka Spirituality

In order for the universe to interact with The Authority (the forces that govern the universe), there has to exist some form of communication between them.  For planets, stars, the sun, moon, humans, plants and animals to be in communication with The Executive Authority there has to be some form of interaction. In any form of communication there has to be the sender of the message, the medium over which the message is relayed and the receiver or recipient. This is a simple principle of communication.

The form of communication between the universe and The Executive Authority is a spiritual communication. This is an intricate and often misunderstood concept. How can a planet communicate or does it communicate at all? If we agree that planets were created, then it should follow that some sort of communication must exist  and should be maintained with its creator.

What if?

I believe by now the liberation of black people from white rule and attainment of political freedom (independence) since the late 1950’s in Africa should by now have prepared African people to rule and effectively take charge of their lives.

South Africa’s political freedom in 1994 also should have made it possible for majority of blacks to enjoy liberation from poverty, economic strife and led to prosperity. Yet we see the attainment of independence in Africa and freedom in South Africa having brought more challenges to the incumbent leadership, past and present. Wasn’t liberation from slavery, colonialism and apartheid expected to have brought victory and prosperity to Africans? What if it didn’t?

African People, what a Beautiful Nation!

When people talk about beauty referring to people, they often refer to outward beauty as it is the virtue that meets the eye. They always heap praise on what is obviously conspicuous to the naked eye, almost oblivious to the inner being of the individual. Inner beauty is concealed and often does not come through unless it is seen in the person’s deeds.

But can we equate inner beauty to outer beauty? What is inner beauty anyway?

Youth politics of deceit at a ‘tertiary’ level!

Whilst a student in the 90’s at the former Technikon Northern Transvaal now Tshwane University of Technology, I was always mesmerized by student politics and how brilliant this youth leaders were and ahead of their time. I have many times asked myself how come these leaders being students, able to master the art of public speech, power of persuasion and the finesse with which they executed their student leadership tasks. I was in deed in admiration.

Many of these leaders were in the student representative council known as the SRC and they were vocal about student matters and also militant in terms of putting their points across. What I noticed was that they were highly respected by the institution’s authority and they held power over the institute’s academic matters and general affairs. As for us students, we followed like sheep each time they called student meetings and other social gatherings of concern to students. Such was the nature of student politics.

The Universe

The universe is the totality of everything that exists, also referred to as all creation, including all matter, energy, planets, galaxies and other intergalactic space: source by Wikipedia.

Before the universe was created by the supernatural force or spirit, there existed darkness and this darkness ensured that nothing would be created. For nothing to not be created, it would require some energy or force to ensure that creation does not take place. I hope this is not confusing as it almost sounds like tautology, but please bear with me.
